Upward adjustment in interest rates increase the costs of both existing and new debts. For the six months ended 30 June 2010, the effective interest rate of fixed-rate bank loans was approximately 2.90% per annum. The Group has not entered into any types of interest rate agreements or derivative transactions to hedge against the fluctuation in interest rates. Foreign exchange rate fluctuation risk The Group exports a significant portion of its products to and makes purchases from international markets where transactions are denominated in U.S. dollars or other foreign currencies. To reduce the risk, the Group has entered into certain foreign exchange trading facilities to reduce its currency risks. Employee and Remuneration Policy The Group had a total of 8,295 dedicated full time employees as of 30 June 2010, including 1,630 management and administrative staff, 6,504 production staff and 161 operation supporting staff. In line with the Group’s and individual performance, a competitive remuneration package is offered to retain elite employees including salaries, medical insurance, discretionary bonuses, other benefits as well as mandatory provident fund scheme for employees in Hong Kong and state-managed retirement benefit scheme for employees in the PRC. The Group has also adopted a share option scheme and restricted share award scheme for its employees, providing incentives and rewards to eligible participants with reference to their contribution. For the six months ended 30 June 2010, no share option was granted or agreed to be granted by the Group under the scheme. As of 30 June 2010, a total of 33,560,000 restricted shares have been offered to eligible participants in accordance with the restricted share award scheme.
