Cathay Pacific Expands Code-share Agreement with Flybe

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced that it has expanded its code-share agreement with the Flybe Group, enabling passengers travelling from Hong Kong to connect to four destinations in the United Kingdom via Amsterdam or Paris. Flybe is a British regional airline group based in Exeter in the south-west of England.

Under the expanded agreement, Cathay Pacific's "CX" code will be placed on selected Flybe flights between Amsterdam and Birmingham and Southampton in the UK, and between Paris and Birmingham, Manchester and Exeter. Tickets for the new code-share services are already open for sale for travel commencing 12 January 2015.

This new arrangement provides more choice, greater convenience and improved connectivity for passengers travelling through the Hong Kong hub to the UK. It also marks the first time for Birmingham, Britain's second-biggest city, to be included as part of the Cathay Pacific network.

In December 2014, Cathay Pacific and Flybe launched a code-share agreement covering selected Flybe domestic flights between Manchester and seven UK destinations, namely Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Exeter, Inverness, the Isle of Man and Southampton.

Cathay Pacific currently operates 75 flights a week between Hong Kong and a number of European cities, including London, Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Rome, Milan and Moscow. The airline will commence operations to Zurich in March.
