

HKMA Quarterly Bulletin (August 2000 Issue)
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) today (30 August) published the latest issue of its Quarterly Bulletin. This issue contains articles on:
| Deregulation of Interest Rate Rules - Summary of Self-Assessment Reports by Banks - a summary of self-assessment reports from 44 licensed banks in Hong Kong on the likely impact of interest rate deregulation on their institutions, and of how these institutions have prepared themselves for deregulation. | |
| Currency Options and Central Bank Operation - a study by the HKMA on the theory and practice of the use of currency options in monetary management. | |
| Survey of the Financing Situation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises - a summary of the main results of two surveys, conducted in December 1999 and March 2000, on the financing situation of small and medium-sized enterprises. |
The Bulletin also carries regular articles on the banking and monetary environment during the second quarter of 2000. The Quarterly Bulletin, which is on sale at the Government Publications Centre, may also be ordered direct from the HKMA.
