Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited is co-sponsoring the first ever meeting of the world's securities industry infrastructure leaders. The conference will take place in London on 1 and 2 February. Kwong Ki-chi, chief executive of HKEx, will deliver a speech at the conference.
Leaders of more than 70 of the most important financial services firms and infrastructure organisations in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas will discuss the future of global securities clearing.
The conference will include representation from the main segments of the global securities industry, including central counterparties, clearing houses, securities depositories, exchanges, alternative marketplaces, banks, brokers and regulators.
It follows the publication last October of a white paper by The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) of New York, that suggested that the industry would benefit from the development of a global clearing solution.
In addition to HKEx, the other sponsors are DTCC, the Brazilian Clearing and Depository Corporation, the Canadian Depository for Securities, Clearnet, Paris, Eurex Clearing, Frankfurt, London Clearing House, the Options Clearing Corporation, Chicago, Singapore Exchange/the Central Depository and Tokyo Stock Exchange.
