Incorporated in 1997, Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engg) is an integrated engineering group specialising in innovative solutions and services in the aerospace, electronics, land systems and marine sectors.

A leader in each of these core businesses, ST Engg's multi-sector capability enables it to be a one-source provider for customers in over 50 countries. Its advanced engineering centre continually seeks out emerging technologies, applicable in the defence or commercial fields, to help the Group maintain its innovative differentiator.

The Group's internationalisation efforts have grown its global footprint to include over 100 subsidiaries, joint ventures and associates in 15 countries and 22 cities, spanning the US, Europe, Asia and Australasia. It is also increasing its presence in China and expanding its operations in the US through its regional headquarters, VT Systems. Its latest acquisition in the US on Dec 2003 was VT Miltope, a specialist in rugged computer equipment.

ST Engg is one of the ten largest companies listed on The Singapore Exchange with a market capitalisation of about S$6 billion (US$3.5 billion), and a global workforce of 12,000. It achieved revenues of S$2.8 billion and net earnings of S$326 million in the financial year 2003.

ST Engg offers a comprehensive breadth of services and products through its four strategic business sectors:

The Aerospace sector provides engineering and maintenance services for a wide range of military and commercial aircraft through its three business segments, Aircraft Maintenance and Modification (AMM); Component/Engine Repair and Overhaul (CERO); and Engineering & Materials Services (EMS).

The Electronics sector is one of the largest system houses in the region specialising in design, development and integration of systems and solutions. It is engaged in continuing research in the areas of information communication, infrastructure development, information security, mobile real-time systems and mobile commerce.

The Land Systems sector provides design and engineering services for military vehicles, weapon systems and munitions ranging from manufacturing, upgrading, repair to maintenance and life cycle management. It also provides components and sub-systems design and development, and laboratory and industrial test services.

The Marine sector provides turnkey shipbuilding, shipconversion and shiprepair services. The shipyard's ship design capabilities give it the edge in providing sophisticated, highly customised solutions for a wide spectrum of naval and commercial vessels.
