Our Business Strategy
We aim to be a premier global provider of airport ground handling and inflight catering services through the expansion of our operations.
Our growth strategy is to:
Maintain our market position at Singapore Changi Airport
An important component of our business strategy is to maintain our position as the leading provider of ground handling and inflight catering services at Singapore Changi Airport. To service the anticipated increase in passenger and air freight traffic, we have invested in new state-of-the-art ground handling and inflight catering facilities.
We expect that the global trend towards consolidation in the ground handling and inflight catering industries will continue, following the trend towards consolidation and strategic alliances in the airline industry. We believe that in time, this will result in relatively few large international ground handling and inflight catering providers. To meet the growing challenge of global operators, we intend to continue expanding our joint ventures and acquisitions. This will enable us to provide high quality and seamless ground handling and inflight catering services to our existing airline clients over a greater number of destinations. We believe this strategy will enhance our future growth and further strengthen our relationships with our international airline clients.
We intend to make acquisitions that will enhance our revenue growth, operations and profitability. We believe that, as airlines increasingly focus on their core flight operations business, they will divest their ground handling and inflight catering subsidiaries. We intend to actively explore opportunities to acquire these businesses, if suitable, for our long-term growth plans.
We intend to source, develop or acquire related businesses that will complement our growth plans and enhance our earnings profile.
Our Competitive Strengths
In pursuing our growth strategies, we intend to leverage on our competitive strengths, which include:
Our Overseas Associates
SATS has a rich network of joint ventures and strategic alliances, as well as a long and successful history of working with overseas partners. As a trusted and respected regional player, SATS ensures that each partnership is founded upon close cooperation and mutual alignment of long-term objectives.
By actively maintaining a keen focus on product and service quality, SATS is able to retain its edge in an industry where the trend of consolidation and strategic alliances looks set to continue.
Today, SATS has an extensive footprint across Asia and the Middle East, with 18 overseas investments in China, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, the Maldives, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.
In its first entry into the growing Middle-East market, SATS signed a two-year collaboration agreement with Qatar Aviation Services in February 2006 to provide management services at Doha International Airport in Qatar.
Amongst its more recent achievements, SATS, together with joint venture partner Air India, was awarded ground and cargo handling concessions at the upcoming new Bangalore International Airport, scheduled for completion in 2008. SATS, Air India and Indian Airlines also jointly secured the ground handling concession to operate at the new Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad in Hyderabad.
