MANDARIN ORIENTAL - CHAIRMAN'S ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING STATEMENT
Bermuda, 12th June 1996 -- At the Annual General Meeting of Mandarin Oriental International Limited, the Chairman, Mr Simon Keswick, said, "The strong performance in the second half of 1995 has continued into the current year, with room yields at our two Hong Kong hotels showing further improvement. Yields in our other hotels have also strengthened."
"Kahala Mandarin Oriental, Hawaii and Hotel Majapahit, Surabaya, have both now re-opened after refurbishment, but it will take some time for them to make a contribution to Group results."
"While the growth achieved so far in 1996 is likely to level out in the second half of the year, the full year's result is expected to show improvement."
