BOARD APPOINTMENTS AT JARDINE MATHESON
23rd December 1998 - Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited today announced that Dr Richard Lee and Mr E P K Weatherall have been appointed Directors of the Company with effect from 1st January 1999.
Dr Richard Lee is Chairman of TAL Apparel and his principal business interests are in the manufacturing of textiles and apparel in Southeast Asia. He is currently a director of Mandarin Oriental and of Group holding company, Jardine Strategic Holdings, from which he will retire as a director on 31st December 1998. Dr Lee will serve in an independent non-executive capacity.
Mr Weatherall is the chief executive officer of Hongkong Land Holdings, having previously served in a number of executive roles within the Jardine Matheson Group since joining in 1976.
Henry Keswick, Chairman of Jardine Matheson Holdings, said "We are pleased to welcome Richard Lee and Percy Weatherall to the Board and we look forward to benefiting from their considerable business experience."
