JARDINE MATHESON HOLDINGS - CHAIRMAN'S ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING STATEMENT
Bermuda, 12th June 1997 -- At the Annual General Meeting of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited held today, the Chairman, Mr Henry Keswick said, "The performance of most of our businesses so far in 1997 has been in line with expectations. Trading results will, however, be affected by a reduced contribution from Jardine Fleming, which continues to perform at the lower level seen in the second half of 1996. The overall Group result will be enhanced by the exceptional profit arising from the disposal of Jardine Pacific's life insurance interests."
