Jardine Matheson Announces Results of Annual General Meeting
Bermuda, 1st June 2000 -- Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited today announced that the members' resolutions proposed at the Company's Annual General Meeting held earlier today did not receive the required majority and were not approved. The ordinary business of the meeting was approved.
"We are pleased with the outcome of today's shareholder votes at our Annual General Meeting and believe the result is in the long-term best interests of the shareholders and other stakeholders of the Company," said Managing Director, Percy Weatherall. "The meeting was a positive forum to discuss the concerns of our shareholders and we appreciated the opportunity to hear their opinion. Jardine Matheson has always and will always be a shareholder-focused company and we will continue to invite input from all of our shareholders on a regular basis."
A separate announcement was made earlier today of the statement made at the meeting by the Chairman, Henry Keswick.
