HONGKONG LAND ANNOUNCES NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE

28th February 2000 - Hongkong Land Holdings Limited today announced the appointment of Nicholas Sallnow-Smith as the Group's Chief Executive with effect from 28th February 2000. He replaces Percy Weatherall, who has been appointed Managing Director of Jardine Matheson. Mr Weatherall remains a director of the Company.

Mr Sallnow-Smith has been Finance Director of Hongkong Land since 1998, prior to which, he was Group Treasurer of Jardine Matheson for five years.

Chairman of Hongkong Land, Simon Keswick, said, "Nick Sallnow-Smith has an in-depth knowledge of the Group and is well qualified to assume the role of Chief Executive."

Hongkong Land is a property investment, management and development Group with a major portfolio in Hong Kong and with other property and infrastructure interests in Asia.
