MANAGEMENT CHANGE AT WELLCOME
8th June 1998 - Dairy Farm's Group Chief Executive, Ron Floto, announced today that Colin Buchanan is to succeed Geoff Adams as Chief Executive - Wellcome, Hong Kong and South China at the end of June and that Mr Adams is to leave the Group.
Mr Buchanan joined Dairy Farm in September 1995 after a 19 year career with Marks & Spencer in Hong Kong and Britain. He has held positions at Dairy Farm including Development Director; Director, Pharmacies and Drugstores, Asia; and, most recently, Group Director, Procurement and Logistics.
Mr Adams joined Cold Storage in Singapore in 1983. He served as CEO of the Dairy Farm Group's Spanish operation from 1992 before assuming responsibility for Wellcome in 1996.
In announcing the moves, Mr Floto said, "Colin Buchanan has a wealth of the best international retail management experience and takes over at Wellcome at an exciting time for Dairy Farm. Geoff Adams has done a fine job in developing the Wellcome chain and we wish him every success."
