UNAUDITED QUARTERLY RESULTS
FOR THE NINE MONTHS ENDED 30TH JUNE, 1998

SUMMARY The directors of Yue Yuen Industrial (Holdings) Ltd announce the unaudited consolidated profit and loss account of Yue Yuen and its subsidiaries (the "Group") for the nine months ended 30th June, 1998. This announcement is made in response to a request by Yue Yuen's substantial shareholder, Pou Chen Corporation, which is required by the regulatory authorities in Taiwan (where Pou Chen is listed) to publish its quarterly financial results in Taiwan for the nine months ended 30th September, 1998 to include the Group's profit and loss for the nine months ended 30th June, 1998. |
The directors ("Directors") of Yue Yuen Industrial (Holdings) Limited ("Yue Yuen") have been informed by Pou Chen Corporation ("Pou Chen") that Pou Chen is required by the regulatory authorities in Taiwan to publish its quarterly financial results for the nine months ended 30th September, 1998 to include its overseas investment relating to the Group. Pou Chen is a substantial shareholder of Yue Yuen and as at 28th September, 1998 indirectly holds approximately 36 per cent of the issued shares of Yue Yuen. So as to ensure that shareholders of Yue Yuen are informed of the Group's results for the nine months ended 30th June, 1998 prior to such information being published in Taiwan, the Directors have decided to make the following announcement of the Group's unaudited consolidated profit and loss account for the nine months ended 30th June, 1998.
* The reporting currency of the Group is United States Dollars
The Directors hereby state that the Group's Audited Annual Results for the year ended 30th September, 1998 will be announced in accordance with the requirement set out in the Listing Agreement with The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
