Yau Lee Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 406) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary - Yau Lee Construction Company Limited, has won eight awards in "Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme 2009/2010". Prize presentation ceremony and a carnival were held on the same day with programmes comprising safety exhibitions, singing performances, as well as game booths, one of which was manned by the company's staff.
The event was organized jointly by Labour Department in hand with the Occupational Safety and Health Council, the Development Bureau, the Hong Kong Housing Authority, the Construction Industry Council, the Occupational Deafness Compensation Board, the Hong Kong Housing Society, the Hong Kong Construction Association, the Hong Kong General Building Contractors Association, the Hong Kong Construction Sub-Contractors Association, the Hong Kong Federation of Electrical & Mechanical Contractors Limited, the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies and the Hong Kong Construction Industry Employees General Union. The "Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme" aims at raising the awareness of health and safety of the contractors, site management staff and workers. It also aims at nurturing a safety culture, encouraging the adoption of safe working method as well as recognizing and acclaiming the contractors, site management staff and workers who achieved outstanding results in sustaining health and safety. This campaign had been receiving fervent support from the industry throughout the years.
