Hactl Announces August Tonnage Throughput

(8th September 2006, Hong Kong :) Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) announced today that its air cargo tonnage throughput for August was 210,426 tonnes, representing a year-on-year growth of 3.1%. The cumulative tonnage from January to August of 2006 was 1,612,960 tonnes, up 4.7% compared with the same period last year.

Export volume in August registered a moderate growth of 3.5% on a year-on-year basis to 119,109 tonnes. The aggregate tonnage for the first eight months was 897,846 tonnes, up 4.3% year on year.

The import volume for August was 56,137 tonnes, up 2.8% year-on-year. Total import volume handled for the first eight months was 450,759 tonnes, with a year-on-year growth of 3.6%.

Transshipment volume increased by 2.6% year-on-year in August, with 35,180 tonnes handled. Cumulative transshipment volume for the first eight months was 264,355 tonnes, up 8.3% year-on-year.
