Hactl Announces July Tonnage Throughput

(10th August 2006, Hong Kong :) Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) announced today its air cargo tonnage throughput for July and for the first seven months of 2006. Total tonnage from January to July was 1,402,534 tonnes, up 5.0% compared with the same period last year. The volume in July was 208,034 tonnes, with the year-on-year growth slowed to 0.4%.

Export volume in July registered a slight decline of 1.8% on year-on-year basis to 114,304 tonnes. The decline slowed the year-on-year volume growth for the first seven months to 4.4%. Total export volume handled for the period was 778,737 tonnes.

In the import sector, volume in July was 58,742 tonnes, up 0.8% year-on-year. The aggregate tonnage for the first seven months of the year was 394,622 tonnes, up 3.7% year-on-year.

The transshipment volume for July was 34,988 tonnes, up 7.2% year-on-year. Cumulative transshipment volume for the first seven months was 229,175 tonnes, up 9.3% year-on-year.
