(9th May 2006, Hong Kong:) Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) announced today that its tonnage throughput for April 2006 was 210,426 tonnes, representing a year-on-year growth of 2.6%. Cumulative tonnage from January to April 2006 was 786,542 tonnes, up 6.6% against the same period last year.
Export volume grew 3.3% year-on-year in April, with a total of 120,923 tonnes being handled. Aggregate export volume for the first four months was 438,227 tonnes, up 6.4% compared with the same period last year. Import volume for April and for the first four months was 57,647 tonnes and 219,429 tonnes respectively, up 2.7% and 4.4% year-on-year for the respective periods. The transshipment volume was 31,856 tonnes in April, with a slight decrease of 0.3% registered. Total transshipment volume for the first four months was 128,886 tonnes, up 11.4% against the same period last year.
