Hactl Posts Healthy Growth in Cargo Volume in First Two Months

(8th March 2006, Hong Kong) Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) today released its tonnage figures for January and February 2006. Cumulative tonnage for the first two months of the year was 350,117 tonnes, up 8.9% against the same period last year. Since the Chinese New Year holidays began in January this year and in February the year prior, the aggregate tonnage figures for the first two months were used to provide a more accurate picture of year-on-year tonnage growth.

Export tonnage for the first two months was 186,451 tonnes, up 7.2% year-on-year. Total import volume for January and February was 101,647, up 4.9% year-on-year. Transshipment volume for the first two months grew 22.7% year-on-year to 62,019 tonnes.
