(8th February 2006, Hong Kong) Hactl released today its tonnage figures for the first month of 2006. Volume handled in January was 191,488 tonnes, up 9.6% year-on-year. Export tonnage for January grew 9.7% year-on-year to 107,959 tonnes, while import volume was 51,558 tonnes, down 0.3% from a year ago. Strong growth was recorded in the transshipment sector - up 30.0% against the same month last year. The details of import, export and transshipment volume is tabulated below :
