Hactl Releases First Two Months' Tonnage Figures

(7th March 2005, Hong Kong) Hactl released today its tonnage figures for the first two months of 2005. Tonnage for January and February was 321,443 tonnes, up 2.8% compared with the same period last year. Aggregate tonnage for January and February averages out the Chinese New Year effect, and provides a more accurate picture of tonnage growth.

Export tonnage for the first two months of 2005 grew 5% year-on-year to 173,985 tonnes. Import volume was 96,930 tonnes, down 7% year-on-year. Strong growth was registered in the transshipment sector - up 18.5% year-on-year. The details of import, export and transshipment volume is tabulated below :
