(5 February 2004, Hong Kong) Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) announced today its air cargo tonnage throughput for January 2004. Decrease in cargo demand during the Chinese New Year holidays resulted in year-on-year decline of 3.5% in import tonnage and 2.5% in export volumes. Total tonnage handled in January 2004 was 145,470 tonnes, down 2.4% compared with the same month last year. The import, export and transshipment volumes handled in the month of January 2004 are tabulated as follows :
