(5 January 2004, Hong Kong) Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) announced today that it has won the "2003 Hong Kong Award for Services: Productivity", which is the grand award in the "Productivity" category under the "Hong Kong Awards for Services" award scheme. The award presentation gala dinner was held tonight at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The "Hong Kong Awards for Services" was inaugurated in 1997 to recognise companies for their contributions towards enhancing the competitiveness of Hong Kong's service sector. The award scheme provides benchmarks in the areas of innovation, productivity, customer service, tourism service and export marketing, with five business associations, namely the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Productivity Council, the Hong Kong Retail Management Association, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council being the organisers of the respective categories. The performance of each applicant company is assessed by a Central Judging Panel, which is composed of business leaders in the territory.
Hactl was selected grand winner of the "Productivity" category in "2003 Hong Kong Awards for Services" for its endeavors in enhancing service efficiency and customer service level to sustain continual business growth and service competitiveness.
The "2003 Hong Kong Award for Services : Productivity" was the latest in a string of accolades Hactl received. The Company won the "Hong Kong Award for Services : Innovation" in 2001, and was the grand award winner of the "Hong Kong Award for Services : Export Marketing" in 2002. It was named "Air Cargo Terminal of the Year" at the Asia Logistics Awards in both 2002 and 2003.
Hactl's Managing Director Anthony Wong said, " We are very honoured to receive the '2003 Hong Kong Award for Services : Productivity'. It is recognition of service excellence in our operations at SuperTerminal 1 at Hong Kong International Airport.
