FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2 September 2002

Hactl announced service extension to 14 Pearl River Delta destinations for SuperLink China Direct

(Hong Kong, 2 September 2002) Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) is pleased to announce today the addition of new service points to its SuperLink China Direct service portfolio, adding 14 destinations in the Pearl River Delta area to its existing air-road connection network.

In addition to the existing service network of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Shenzhen Baoan Airport and Huangpu Free Trade Zone, the extension features daily consolidated bonded truck service from Hactl's SuperTerminal 1 to the following 14 destinations in the Pearl River Delta region via Huangpu Free Trade Zone :

- Dongguan, including the districts of Yanti, Fenggang, Changan, Taiping, Huangcun
- Qingyuan- Zhaoqing- Gaoming
- Shunde- Panyu- Xinhui
- Taishan- Zhongshan- Shantou

The new service features "Airport-to-Door" delivery, whereby SuperLink China Direct consignments, upon arrival at Huangpu Free Trade Zone, are re-bonded under Hactl's subsidiary Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited's arrangement with Huangpu customs. Leveraging Huangpu's status as a free trade zone and its strategic location at the center of Guangdong province, bonded consignments are further delivered directly to consignees located within the above cities. The service extension provides a comprehensive network of destinations, strengthening connectivity between the Hong Kong International Airport and the catchment areas in the Pearl River Delta area.

Operated by Hacis, SuperLink China Direct features simplified customs clearance at SuperTerminal 1, obviating the need to do so again when crossing the Chinese border, and provides a neutral platform of intermodal services to airlines and freight forwarders that are secured, efficient, information-enabled and time-definite. In addition to the new delivery service via Huangpu, SuperLink China Direct also offers the following service options :

Summit Chan, Hactl's Director - Marketing and Customer Service said, "The new service is strategically developed at Huangpu Free Trade Zone, home to nearly 400 industrial plants of many multinational corporations, and from where goods can be further distributed within the Pearl River Delta region. The new service extension significantly expands SuperLink China Direct's network coverage, and we are very pleased to offer to our customers this new "Airport-to-Door" service option, which reduces the inefficiencies in the current supply chain. If demand justifies, we will introduce a double daily service with afternoon departures to capture the morning flight arrivals in order to further reduce the time required for SuperLink China Direct consignments to reach the market or manufacturing base in the Pearl River Delta region." Summit Chan added as he introduced up-coming initiatives to be launched to SuperLink China Direct, "Customers will be able to benefit from real time on-line tracking of SuperLink China Direct consignments while on transit both in Hong Kong and in Mainland China, when GPSeal, an integrated solution combining the technologies of Global Positioning System, electronic seal and short messaging system, is launched in the fourth quarter. Our aim is to add value to our customers' supply chain through continuous service extension and innovation."
