SHKP wins tenth Caring Company title

Hong Kong, May 3, 2012: Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) has been named a Caring Company by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for a tenth consecutive year, and 63 SHKP group companies and developments in all received the designation this year. They included subsidiaries Hong Yip, Kai Shing, Sanfield and Ma Wan Park. SHKP believes in 'Building Homes with Heart and helps the community with various charitable initiatives.

SHKP was nominated by 11 non-governmental organizations and was one of the most nominated companies this year. SHKP and affiliated companies, residential developments, shopping malls and hotels received 63 Caring Company designations, including eight '10 Consecutive Years Caring Company' titles, 13 '5 Year Plus' designations and 12 '5 Consecutive Years' honours.

SHKP excelled in the 'Caring for the Community', 'Caring for Employee' and 'Caring for the Environment' criteria by encouraging employees to volunteer, giving to charity, mentoring, caring for employees, promoting work-life balance and protecting the environment. The Caring Company scheme was set up ten years ago to encourage businesses to show social responsibility and work with the social welfare sector to build a caring society.
