SHKP again named ERB Manpower Developer
for excellence in staff training
Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) and its property management subsidiary the Hong Yip Service Company have again won Manpower Developer 1st designations by the Employees Retraining Board. SHKP subsidiary Sanfield Building Contractors received its first Manpower Developer title this year and Kai Shing Management Services was also awarded the honour last year. SHKP is people oriented, and comprehensive training is part of its corporate culture.
The Manpower Developer Award scheme is in its third year and is the first in Hong Kong to assess companies on effective training, development strategies and practices. The assessment criteria include leading a learning culture, resource planning, training and development, performance management and corporate social responsibility in manpower development. SHKP and Hong Yip have 'Manpower Developer 1st' designations, since they were accredited when the scheme began.
SHKP believes that people are its most valuable asset. It places great emphasis on staff training and development and offers ideal working environments for its 35,000 employees. It puts on over 300 training courses and seminars every year covering topics such as leadership, business strategy, mainland economic development, customer service, personal development, technical skills, stress management and mental health. Attendance has been good, with over 30,000 places filled last year.
