(4 December 2003, Hong Kong) Building on the success of its 'Worry-free Shopping' promotional campaign in Guangzhou in October, Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) today kicked off another round of publicity on the Mainland - the SHKP Christmas and New Year Worry-free Shopping campaign, consisting of a series of exhibitions and carnivals in Guangdong province, Beijing and Shanghai.
It starts off with a roving exhibition in Guangzhou's major offices and shopping malls to introduce six designated SHKP shopping malls. The exhibition then moves on to Beijing and Shanghai. Three carnivals with fashion and cosmetic shows will be staged in Guangzhou's Beijinglu Pedestrian Shopping Street, Foshan's Baihua Plaza and Zhongshan's Pedestrian Shopping Street.
The six SHKP malls are in two clusters: one includes the traditionally popular shopping districts of Mongkok, Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui, taking in Grand Century Place, the World Trade Centre and The Sun Arcade. The second cluster of malls is strategically located along the railroads. It includes SHKP's flagship mall New Town Plaza in Shatin, Landmark North and its neighbour Metropolis Plaza in Sheung Shui.
Ho Lick Tin, Deputy General Manager - Marketing in Retail Leasing with the Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency, said that the response to the October campaign was overwhelming. For example, the 1,000 free SmarTone calling cards for Mainland travellers were swiftly snapped up in three days.
"Guangdong and Hong Kong are interconnected and people from the two places have close and frequent contact with each other. That's why we have chosen here to kick off our new campaign," said Mr Ho.
"Thanks to our success last time, our new promotional campaign is on a much larger scale and covers a lot more cities. All our shopping malls have put up special decorations to celebrate Christmas and the New Year and ensure that our customers will have a memorable shopping experience."
As well as exhibitions and carnivals, SHKP has prepared some special gifts for the people in Guangdong, Beijing and Shanghai - free trips to Hong Kong, including accommodation. Residents of the three places just have to go to any of the SHKP Christmas and New Year Worry-free Shopping exhibitions or carnivals, and fill out a lucky draw entry form. There will be 50 winners, each of whom will be entitled to bring along one guest. A total of 40 prizes will be given away in Guangdong and 10 in Shanghai and Beijing.
