Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) today announced the appointments of Victor So Hing-woh as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (China) and Jackson Woo Ka-biu as Alternate Director to SHKP's Non-executive Director Sir Po-shing Woo, both effective today (October 2, 2002).

Walter Kwok, SHKP's Chairman and Chief Executive, was pleased to welcome the new board members. He said Victor So would oversee development projects in the Shanghai and southern China markets as SHKP increases its investments on the Mainland. Mr So is very experienced in housing project planning and management, housing policy and strategic development in both the public and private sectors, which is sure to advance SHKP's growth in China. He also has an extensive history in community service.

Prior to joining SHKP, Mr So was Executive Director of the Hong Kong Housing Society. Before that, he was Property Director of the MTR Corporation and General Manager of Hutchison Properties (subsequently merged with Hutchison Whampoa Group). Mr So also has experience in community service, as Chairman of the Housing Managers Registration Board, Member of the Land & Building Advisory Committee, Council Member of the Employers' Federation of Hong Kong, Ex-officio of the Long Term Housing Strategy Advisory Committee, Member of Hong Kong Housing Authority and Member of the Town Planning Board.

Mr So holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a Registered Professional Housing Manager, Fellow Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Chartered Institute of Housing, Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and Hong Kong Institute of Housing.

At the same time, SHKP appointed Jackson Woo Ka-biu as an Alternate Director to Non-executive Director Sir Po-shing Woo. Mr Woo is also a Director of NM Rothschild & Sons (Hong Kong). He holds a Master's degree in Jurisprudence from Oxford University and is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong, Australia, England and Wales. Mr Woo was a partner in the corporate finance department of Woo, Kwan, Lee & Lo and is now a consultant to the firm. He is an Independent Non-executive Director of Henderson Cyber, and an Alternate Director to Sir Po-shing Woo, who is an Independent Non-executive Director of Henderson Land Development and Henderson Investment.
