Park Island is the flagship development by Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) on scenic Ma Wan Island, surrounded by greenery and ocean views. SHKP has imported four high-speed catamarans to serve residents of the property, offering easy transportation and preserving the quiet environment at the same time. The developer has also created the Park Island Transportation Company to manage transport for the property, with Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) as the major shareholder. KMB's vast experience in the transport industry will ensure Park Island residents receive the finest service.
Anticipated journey times from Park Island: Central in 20 minutes; Tsuen Wan West Rail station in ten minutes; Chek Lap Kok in 23 minutes.
The four catamarans were imported from Singapore. Each is 38.5 metres long with two air-conditioned cabins, and together they have over 1,600 seats. The catamarans have special stabilizing foils to guarantee a smoother, more pleasant ride. The ferry cabins are decorated in yellow, blue and orange to match Park Island's logo colours. In addition, the on-board air conditioning uses an environmentally-friendly coolant to minimize damage to the ozone layer, in line with SHKP's eco-friendly approach to developing Park Island.
The waiting area at the deluxe Central pier for Park Island will make residents comfortable and relaxed. While waiting for the ferry, they will have access to a range of VIP facilities, including tea or coffee and use of the Internet to reserve clubhouse facilities.
As well as ferry services, Park Island's convenient transport network includes land routes, including an eco-friendly, battery-powered shuttle service to Tsing Yi in just six minutes.
