Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) today announced the appointment of Jonathan Petit as the company's new Director of Office Leasing. Mr Petit will be responsible for overseeing a major segment of SHKP's office property portfolio, formulating strategy and taking charge of marketing. He will devote special attention to the International Finance Centre (IFC) and Airport Express Kowloon Station Packages 5, 6 & 7 developments, to ensure the best leasing results. Mr Petit took up his new position on June 17.

Mr Petit has extensive experience in Hong Kong property. Before joining SHKP, he was Chief Executive Officer - Asia Pacific with Colliers Jardine (now Colliers International), and before that Executive Director of office leasing with Hongkong Land. SHKP has been working to develop the finest commercial complexes in the territory, and with the completion of IFC and Kowloon Station Packages 5, 6 & 7, we will have one of the most prestigious grade-A office portfolios in Hong Kong. This appointment comes at a strategic time for us, and we are confident that Mr Petit's abilities, talent and vision will set new standards of performance for our investment properties."

Speaking of his new position, Mr Petit said, "I am very much looking forward to working with SHKP, because it is the premier developer of signature projects in the territory. With stabilization in the global economy of late and China's recent admission to the WTO, I am quite confident in the long-term prospects for the grade-A office property market in Hong Kong. I anticipate some excellent results, particularly when IFC Phase II and the Kowloon Station development come on stream. Both will offer state-of-the-art, intelligent office facilities designed specifically to meet the needs of international business in the 21st century, and as the 'Harbour Gateway' they will be the most sought-after office addresses in the territory."
