The Hong Yip Service Company recently won a Certificate of Excellence in the Hong Kong Management Association's (HKMA) 2002 Quality Award. Hong Yip is a member of Sun Hung Kai Properties and the first local property manager to win this award.
The Quality Award recognizes a company that demonstrates high quality management and service, and the HKMA stages it to encourage local businesses to boost quality. The award is given out based on seven criteria: leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, information and analysis, human resources, process management and business performance.
There are three levels of Quality Award: Overall Winner, Certificate of Excellence and Certificate of Merit. Alkin Kwong, Managing Director of Hong Yip, said, "Since the award was established in 1991, only three companies have met the requirement of the judging panel for the Certificate of Excellence. The fact that Hong Yip is one of them is acknowledgement of the quality of its management service. More importantly, the selection process makes staff more aware that Hong Yip's philosophy for success is to provide the very best service to customers. By doing their very best and sometimes even exceeding customers' expectations, staff earn their praise."
Hong Yip has won various kinds of international certification for performance in recent years, such as ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification from the HKQAA, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification and OHSAS 18001 Certification for Occupational Health and Safety. It also won numerous prizes such as the HKMA's Award for Excellence in Training and a Customer Service Award from the Hong Kong Retail Management Association. In addition, it has been named Best Property Management Agent by the Hong Kong Housing Authority for eight consecutive years.
According to Mr Kwong, Hong Yip is determined to upgrade its service to world-class standards. The company recently studied the hotel-style service from some internationally-renowned companies, to raise its quality of service further and offer residents an even better living environment.
In order to serve its valued customers better, Hong Yip has 14 associate companies that offer one-stop service. There are over 6,200 well-trained professional staff under the Hong Yip umbrella, and it manages more than 900 residential, commercial and industrial buildings and car parks throughout Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, encompassing more than 80 million square feet of gross floor area.
