The Parcville will be handed over to owners by the end of August 2002. Designed to be environmentally friendly, the development is the first residential estate in Hong Kong to be rated Excellent by the Business Environment Council under its Hong Kong Building Environmental Assessment Method (HK-BEAM). An on-site show flat for the development is now open to the public from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm daily. The Parcville is a joint development by Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) and New World Development.
The development was planned to blend in with its natural surroundings. It includes 200,000 square feet of landscaping planted with about 2,500 trees, making it one of the biggest green estates in the area. The semi-open green car park encourages natural air circulation, helping to keep the air inside fresh, and PV lamp posts in the landscaped garden help to conserve natural resources. Besides, all the bathrooms in The Parcville have controls to regulate the volume of flushing water according to different needs, reducing both water consumption and sewage.
Martin Tam, Project Director for The Parcville, said being certified Excellent under HK-BEAM is a great encouragement. SHKP always strives to build quality developments that offer residents a comfortable living environment. It incorporates environmentally-friendly concepts in the planning, choice of building materials and property management to improve residents' standard of living. SHKP is pleased that the industry recognizes its dedication to environment protection, and it believes that such efforts could be much more effective with Government initiatives.
Located in Tung Tau, Yuen Long, The Parcville comprises 14 low-density residential buildings between 13 and 15 storeys. The property contains 1,618 units ranging from 606 to 919 square feet, with nine-foot ceilings and 80% efficiency. There are also 400 parking spaces for residents. The development enjoys a view of the Mai Po Nature Reserve, and a nearby bauhinia garden currently under construction will offer The Parcville's residents another view of scenic greenery.
