International Finance Centre (IFC) won the Gold Prize for a Business to Business Website in the Hong Kong 4As Creative Awards 2001 (Interactive), organized by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents of Hong Kong. Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) is lead developer in the IFC joint-venture consortium.

The IFC Internet site (www.ifc.com.hk) is both informative and unconventional in the way that it depicts the details of the project using a creative new presentation format. The web site opens with the statement: "In 2003, there will be a change on Earth", heralding the fact that IFC will not only be a new landmark for Hong Kong, but also for the whole world.

The site is divided into four main segments, with an overview of IFC and separate sections on the office towers, shopping mall and hotels. Each segment is clearly defined, and going beyond the limitations of a traditional two-dimensional presentation, site users can see details of the different storeys in the office towers in full 3-D. Special interactive effects also let users take in virtual panoramic views from the top of the 88th floor via the Internet. The remarkable presentation echoes IFC's comprehensive, state-of-the-art facilities. In addition, unlike other Internet sites, this one allows users to print out all the graphics in the site, such as floor plans of different storeys, the location map and even photographs, without using the Windows interface, which makes the output clearer and more defined.

Easy navigation and extensive use of animation are two other features of the IFC web site. Users can quickly find the detailed information they want, and in the IFC shopping mall section, there is an innovative guided tour that takes users around the section automatically. There is even a short slide show on IFC available.

Samson Chu, General Manager (Leasing) in SHKP's Special Projects Department, said, "Leasing of IFC got an extremely good response, with quite a number of corporate customers visiting the project showcase. This new Internet site will disseminate information about IFC even more widely. Now companies that have either already settled in Hong Kong or plan to start operations here can learn more about IFC through our web site, helping them to decide on the location of their offices. The site also provides an on-line way for local companies to download detailed information on IFC, apart from visiting the project showcase. I believe that this outstanding new site, with its brilliant design and vast array of useful information, will add strength to our promotion and boost the leasing performance of IFC."
