Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) announced the appointments of Lawrence Wu as General Manager of the Leasing Department in the Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency and Alkin Kwong as Deputy General Manager of SHKP's subsidiary, the Hong Yip Service Company.

Mr Wu is a graduate in Economics from the University of Hong Kong, and he has extensive experience in property leasing. Before joining SHKP, Mr Wu was General Property Manager with CITIC Pacific, responsible for the leasing, management and promotion of Shanghai projects. He was also the General Leasing Manager of Hongkong Land, overseeing the Landmark in Central, and a Director of Vigers Hong Kong. In addition, Mr Wu has held key positions in several multinational corporations, including Caterpillar and Data General. He is now responsible for strategy and leasing of part of the Group's shopping centre portfolio.

Mr Kwong was a Senior Structural Engineer in the Hong Kong Government's Buildings Department prior to joining SHKP. He was also a Technical Assessor (Foundation) under the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme. He previously worked for noted engineering and consulting firms including Ng Chun Man Associates, Harris & Sutherland (Far East) and Ove Arup & Partners (HK). He is now responsible for property and facility management and the development of consultancy and other professional services for Hong Yip. Mr Kwong has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary in Canada and a post-graduate diploma in Information Technology from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a member of both the Institution of Structural Engineers and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and he is professionally qualified as a Registered Structural Engineer and an Authorized Person under the Hong Kong Buildings Ordinance.
