Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) welcomed today's announcement of the appointments of Donald Tsang as the new Chief Secretary and Antony Leung as Mr Tsang's successor in the post of Financial Secretary. Thomas Kwok, SHKP Vice Chairman and Managing Director, said the appointments would be extremely beneficial to future development and growth, and under the leadership of the Chief Executive CH Tung, would help to lead Hong Kong to new prosperity.

'Donald Tsang has made great contributions to the territory during his career, especially with his role in steering Hong Kong through the Asian financial turmoil,' said Mr Kwok, 'and his outstanding performance and abilities are widely recognised.'

Mr Kwok went on to say that Antony Leung has considerable experience in commercial finance, and as a member of Exco, he brings both public and private sector experience to the post. He is the ideal choice for Financial Secretary.
