I. Route 3 and West Rail - Massive Transportation Infrastructure

1) Route No. 3 - Thoroughfare from Yuen Long to Hong Kong Island
- Route 3 runs through Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories; Central is only 30 minutes by car from Yuen Long, with no traffic lights along the way.
Soon-to-be-completed
1) West Rail - Only 20 minutes from Yuen Long to Kowloon
- The first phase of West Rail is 30.3 km long with 9 stations - Tuen Mun, Siu Hong, Tin Sui Wai, Long Ping, Yuen Long, Kam Sheung Road, Tsuen Wan West, Mei Foo and Nam Cheong; expected completion date is 2003. Yuen Long Station will only be a 5-minute walk from The Parcville, and from Yuen Long, only a 20-minute ride to Sham Shui Po.
- Nam Cheong Station is Hong Kong's first all-inclusive West Rail and MTR station; passengers can transfer to the Tung Chung line to reach the Central business district.
- The West Rail Mei Foo Station will have a special pedestrian walkway to the Mei Foo MTR Station for easy access to the Tsuen Wan line.
2) Other Large-Scale Roadwork
- Route 10
The Route 10 runs from North Lantau to Yuen Long Highway, and together with the proposed Deep Bay Link, will form part of the strategic road network to accommodate the growing cross-border traffic in the northwestern New Territories. These new roads will become important thoroughfares to the airport and border. When completed, the traveling time from Yuen Long to the airport will only be 15 minutes
- Stonecutters Bridge
At 1,600 meters, Stonecutters Bridge is the world's longest span cable-stayed bridge. As part of Route 9 (Tsing Yi to Cheung Sha Wan Section), the bridge connects the No. 8 and No. 9 container ports. Once in use, the bridge is expected to ease traffic from the increasingly busy Route 3.
- The World's Third Longest Suspension Bridge-Tsing Lung Bridge
1,800 meters long and part of Route 10 (Northern Lantau to Yuen Long Highway), Tsing Lung Bridge will connect Kwai Shek and Tsing Lung Tau, making it the second thoroughfare linking Lantau Island to the rest of the territory. When completed, it will ease traffic on the Tsing Ma Bridge and also support the development of the Disney Theme Park at Penny's Bay.
- Plans are also underway to build a new road in Yuen Long's Centre South that will connect to the traffic circle in Shap Pat Heung. A thoroughfare cutting through Yuen Long from north to south will also be built along the Yuen Long's flood prevention canel, which will include an automobile viaduct that stretches southward from On Ning Road in northern Yuen Long pass Castle Peak Road (Yuen Long Section) to Kau Yuk Road.
II. English Secondary Schools and "Value-Added Schools" -
Outstanding School Network
1) First "One-stop School" in Yuen Long
- The only "one-stop school" in Yuen Long will be built next to the property, which will comprise both a primary and secondary school.
2) Prestigious English Secondary Schools
- There are 5 English secondary schools in Yuen Long-Yuen Long Public Secondary School, Yuen Long Merchants Association Secondary School, NTHYK Yuen Long District Secondary School, Shung Tak Catholic English College and Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School.

III. Mai Po - A Protected Nature Reserve
1) Mai Po
- Situated in northwestern Yuen Long, Mai Po is a natural, shallow estuarine bay which covers 1,500 hectares. The mudflats of Inner Deep Bay, mangroves and shrimp ponds are all part of the Mai Po protected area.
- Possesses the only existing inter-tidal mangroves along the South China coast
- Designated as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention in 1995. It is also a major haven for Hong Kong's waterfowl habitat.
- The Government will build a 64-hectare wetlands park in Northeast Yuen Long for tourist, environmental and educational purposes. The wetlands park is expected to be completed in 2003, and will attract over 400 species of migratory birds.
IV. A Meeting Place of Unique Recreational Facilities -
A New Entertainment Hot Spot
1) Countless Specialty Eateries
- Yuen Long is known for its many local culinary delights. Most of the restaurants and shops serving these wonderful foods are located along Yuen Long Road, On Ning Road and Kau Yuk Road.
