SHKP sponsors Ngong Ping Charity Walk for sixth year running
Company team wins corporate challenge

Sun Hung Kai Properties was a diamond sponsor of the 2012 Ngong Ping Charity Walk as part of its efforts to promote environmental protection and healthy lifestyles. This was the sixth year in a row it supported the event, fielding a staff team to join about 1,000 walkers and it came first in the 17-km corporate category. The event gave participants a chance to appreciate nature and cultural heritage, in the same spirit as the SHKP G Power campaign.

The fundraising walk was organized by the Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association and had a Conservation for All theme this year. Routes covered Lantau Peak and the Ngong Ping Trail, and there was a vintage costume contest adding fun to the event for environmental and cultural conservation.

Secretary for Development Carrie Lam, Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association Chairman Michael Wong, Organizing Committee Chairman Terry Liu and Ngong Ping 360 Managing Director Wilson Shao presided over the start. Participants had to finish the courses within three to eight hours, depending on the category. They started at Tung Chung Town Centre and passed through historical sites like Tung Chung Fort, Shek Mun Kap, Po Lam Monastery, Tung Shan Fat Mun, the Hongkong Bank Foundation SG Davis Youth Hostel, Ngong Ping Village and Ngong Ping Trail.
