Green Days at Noah's Ark Promoting Fun and Nature

Following the special events promoting low-carbon living this summer, Noah's Ark hosted an educational Green Days programme with a green carnival, low-carbon supper, eco-friendly scroll painting and a concert by local pop singers on November 6 and 7. Several thousand visitors experienced the fun of an environmentally-friendly life during the two-day event.

Ma Wan Park Noah's Ark was developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties as a special attraction that promotes love for life, family and the earth. The two-day Green Days programme was a reflection of the Noah's Ark vision of educational and entertaining events to promote low-carbon living.

Green Days at Noah's Ark was organized with RoadShow and was opened by Secretary for the Environment Edward Yau, RoadShow Managing Director Mo Tik Sang and Ma Wan Park Administration Manager Matthew Pine. Guests included Under Secretary for Security Lai Tung-kwok, Assistant Director of Water Supplies Ng Mang-tung and WWF Hong Kong's Climate Team Head William Yu showing their support for environmental protection.

One feature was a group of children creating a 40-foot scroll using recycled materials to depict environmental protection. There were eco-friendly electric cars on display and visitors could participate in workshops at the green carnival and learn how to make green soap, solar-powered model cars and even green candles. People also learned about cooking and a greener lifestyle at the low-carbon supper with noted local chef Ricky Cheung, and Founder of Polar Museum Foundation Rebecca Lee Lok-sze.

Hundreds of fans were entertained by singers Kay Tse, Fama, MC Jin, Jason Chan and Lowell during the Sunday evening concert with a backdrop of the stunning view of the Tsing Ma Bridge, and the angelic voices of the St Stephenˇ¦s College Preparatory School senior choir also echoed the green message. The excellent live performance was an enjoyable finale to the programme.
