Three awards for SHKP's Lake Dragon

The Lake Dragon is the first large luxury villa project in northern Guangzhou by Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP). It has won three international accolades with its distinguished design and planning - a LivCom award from UNEP, an honour for interiors from the American Institute of Architects Hong Kong and China's Most Successful Design award.

Acclaimed design

Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency South China General Manager Echo Huang said: "The Lake Dragon is our first top-end luxury villa development in Guangzhou and we are doing everything we can to offer modern stylish and comfortable living amid nature. It will feature the finest planning, design and service to suit customers' needs. A substantial sum has been invested to ensure that the development blends with the natural surrounding. We are very happy with these three honours, which are further proof of SHKP's excellence and indicate our leading role in mainland luxury property market."

The LivCom (Livable Community) awards are given out by UNEP and IFPRA to residential developments with outstanding community facilities, environmental management, and conservation initiatives. The Lake Dragon's design blending architecture with nature stood out in the China category.

The Lake Dragon sales office also won an honour for Interiors from the American Institute of Architects Hong Kong. The Institute has given out awards each year since 1997 to commend remarkable architecture or interiors.

The last award came in the Most Successful Design awards presented by Shanghai creative groups such as the organizers of Shanghai International Creative Industry Week, the Shanghai Industrial Design Association and the Shanghai Creative Industry Association. Judges included leading figures in the industry. The Lake Dragon sales office was praised for its minimalist contemporary design.

Blending architecture and nature

The sales office was designed by Ronald Lu & Partners. It has a modern mix of glass and steel, with a transparent façade offering open views of the scenic surroundings. It has a grand reception lobby, 180-degree projector screen, golden audio-video room, models and VIP rooms.
