Result
The Board of Directors of Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited announces the following audited consolidated figures for the group for the year ended 30th June, 1996 with comparative figures for 1995:-
Notes
1. Hong Kong profits tax is provided at the rate of 16.5% (1995: 16.5%) based on the estimated assesable profits for the year.
2. The Calculation of earnings per share is based on HK$11,039 million (1995: HK$ 10,363 million) being profit attributable to shareholders and on weighted average of 2,353 million shares (1995: 2,324 million shares) in issue during the year.
Dividend
The Directors have decided to recommend the payment of a final dividend of $1.26 per share in respect of the year ended 30th June, 1996, which, together with the interim dividend of $0.60 per share paid on 18th April 1996, will make a total of $1.86 per share for the year, representing an increase of 6.3 % over the previous year. A special cash bonus of $0.38 per share is also recommended. The dividends and special cash bonus for the full year amount to $2.24 per share.
The proposed final dividend and special cash bonus, if approved at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting, will be despatched to the shareholders on 15th November, 1996.
Purchase, Sale or Redemption of Shares
The Company has not redeemed any of its ordinary shares during the year ended 30th June, 1996. Neither the Company nor any of its subsidiaries has purchased or sold any of the Company's ordinary shares during the year.
