(Hong Kong, 26 July 2016) - Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited ("Lukfook" / the "Group") (Stock Code: 00590) is pleased to announce that the Group was awarded the First Runner-up in "Ordering Oxfam Rice (Organization Category)" and "Award for Five Consecutive Years of Support" in "Oxfam Rice Event 2016", in recognition of its continuous participation in the charity rice sale event and active support for Oxfam's poverty reduction and disaster relief work in Mainland China.
Mr. Wong Wai Sheung, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Group said, "The Group is always active in charity programmes to contribute to the society. We have taken part in the 'Oxfam Rice Event' for many years. With the support of our kind-hearted employees, we helped raise funds to support Oxfam in providing assistance for the left-behind children in rural China. In the future, the Group will continue to serve the community, and help more people in need together with our employees."
"Oxfam Rice Event" is the annual major fundraising event of Oxfam Hong Kong. It calls for people to purchase Oxfam rice at HK$20 per packet, aiming to raise funds for the "Oxfam China Development Fund" to provide education and living support for those left-behind children in rural China and help them get rid of poverty and foster their healthy physical and psychological growth.
