Causeway Bay's newest retail landmark Hysan Place has been named Gold and Sustainable Design Award winner in the New Development category of the International Council of Shopping Centers 2013 Asia Pacific Shopping Center Awards. These awards recognise excellence within the region's shopping mall industry. Awards are given for outstanding achievement in marketing and design/development of retail properties and retail store design.
Located at the heart of Causeway Bay with direct access to the MTR station, Hysan Place showcases an enviable selection of nearly 120 most sought-after international brand boutiques spanning over 17 floors. Shoppers enjoy the generous high ceiling with open shop fronts, and can stroll along the atrium sprinkled with natural light via the huge central skylight, or linger at the 4th floor Sky Garden with lush greenery.
Hysan Place and its sustainability features were awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standard (LEED) Platinum certification for Core and Shell by the United States Green Building Council, and is the first mixed-use office and vertical mall complex in Greater China to be so awarded. It also received the highest Platinum certification by Hong Kong's BEAM Plus standard for new buildings. Recently, Hysan Place was also named a 2013 winner in the Urban Land Institute's Global Awards for Excellence, which honours developmental efforts based on factors ranging from good design, leadership, environmental protection, to response to societal needs and financial success.
