Hong Kong, July 14, 2001 --- TOM.COM LIMITED (TOM) was pleased to announce the signing of a business partnership with the Chinese Gymnastic Association (CGA) today on the historic occasion as China wins the bid to host the 2008 Olympics. This is a hallmark in the development of TOM's sports business in China.
Under the agreement, TOM is authorised to organise performances for the Chinese National Gymnastic Squad and will be responsible for the Squad's advertising, marketing and commercial activities.
At the same time, through its subsidiary YC Companies, TOM has applied for the commercial rights, including event organization and advertising sponsorships, of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) for the next few years. If this CBA contract is secured, TOM will become the No. 1 sports marketing and event organiser in China.
Last year, TOM invested in YC Companies, a leading sports event organiser, and has been a staunch supporter of mainland Chinese sports. YC Companies already holds commercial rights for China's national table-tennis tournament, volley ball league, bowling championship and the inter-college football league.

TOM will leverage on business opportunities arising from China's Olympic success and aim to be the No. 1 in sports marketing and event management in China," said Michelle Leung, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of TOM at the farewell cocktail party for the visiting National Gymnastic Squad.
While Beijing is flushed with the joy of success after it won the race to host the 2008 Olympics, TOM celebrated the great news in Hong Kong with members of the Squad. The 19 top gymnasts attending the party were all overwhelmed with joy.
"The success of the KCRC-Chinese Gymnastic Gold Medallists Show has proven the strong event management capabilities of TOM. We believe that TOM will bring us invaluable performing opportunities while maximizing publicity for the team, through its online and offline efforts.
