Orangeworld Roaming Service extends to China and Thailand

The Orangeworld Roaming Service* is now extended world-firstly to China and Thailand, enabling customers to enjoy seamless access to the vast pool of contents and services offered by Orangeworld wirefree internet service whilst travelling overseas. The roaming service was first available in Singapore, and is now further expanded to other parts of the world.

Partner with Unicom to provide world's first WAP roaming service in China

Orange has partnered with China Unicom to provide the world's first WAP roaming service in Shanghai, Guangdong, Shenzhen and Beijing in China. The pioneered arrangement not only allows Orange users to enjoy the broad range of contents** from Orangeworld whilst in China, but also gives them direct access to China Unicom's WAP service which offers useful provincial information such as news, weather, transport, flight schedules, stock, lifestyle information and many more.

WAP roaming service in Thailand with AIS

Joining hands with AIS, Orange now provides the Orangeworld Roaming Service in Thailand, allowing its users to enjoy Orangeworld wirefree internet service in Thailand. Orange users can also access to AIS's mpocket4u service, where local information such as news and finance information, stock, foreign exchange, entertainment and telephone directories are available at their fingertips.

The Orangeworld wirefree internet service currently teams up with 160 content providers to provide wireless access to over 370 websites, catering customers' everyday needs for information such as news, personal finance, health care, entertainment and much more. Orange will work with other mobile operators with a view to extending the roaming service to different parts of the world.

No IDD connection required

Orange users can directly access to the Orangeworld wireless internet service via the WAP gateway of local operators in China and Thailand. In other words, no IDD connection is required. Customers can now enjoy the privilege of being billed only for local mobile data fees, while save spending on expensive long distance calls. Charges for the Orangeworld Roaming Service in China are HK$3.07 per minute, while the charges for the Orangeworld Roaming Service in Thailand are as low as HK$3.05 per minute for peak hours and HK$2.28 per minute for non-peak hours***.

*Orangeworld roaming service is available only to Orange dualband subscribers who have subscribed to both Orangeworld wirefree internet service and Orange International Automatic Roaming service. Applicable handsets include Motorola A6188, L2000i, P7689 and V8088; Nokia 6210 & 7110; Siemens 3508i, 3518i, 3568i and 6688.
**All charging, personal and call-connectable contents are excluded.
***Peak-hours are from 7 am to 10 pm. The tariffs stated are just for reference, and may vary depending on exchange rate fluctuation.
