HTHKH celebrates 30 years of service
by launching the Donation Matching Programme

Hong Kong, 4 Nov 2014 - Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (HTKHK or the Group; stock code: 215) has been serving Hong Kong for 30 years since being granted a mobile telecommunications licence in 1984. Over the last three decades, the Group has grown into a leading integrated telecommunications operator, providing sophisticated mobile and fixedline services.

In celebration of this milestone, a Donation Matching Programme was launched in late October, enabling the Group and all staff to contribute to the community in a meaningful way. The result is that HK$483,000 has been raised to benefit eight registered charitable organisations.

Donation Matching Programme benefits various sections of the community
The Donation Matching Programme ran from 21 to 30 October and encouraged staff to help lessprivileged members of Hong Kong society. All donations from staff were matched dollar-fordollar by the company to maximise positive impact on the community.

The result of the two-week programme was encouraging. A total amount of HK$483,000 was raised and will be evenly shared among eight non-profit charitable organisations. These play differing roles in the community involving specialisms such as education, alleviation of poverty, medical and rehabilitation services and environmental protection. People benefiting will include needy folk of all ages, able-bodied and otherwise, from various sections of society in Hong Kong and mainland China. Organisations receiving funds from the programme include the Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association, Care for Your Heart, Mission of Love, Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Society for the Blind and U-Hearts, as well as the Fu Hui Education Foundation and Eco Association.

A 30-year track record of outstanding industry performance
The Group can look back over an impressive 30-year record of developing mobile and fixed telecoms service under the 3 Hong Kong and HGC brands. 3 Hong Kong was granted a licence to run a mobile telephone network in 1984, then in 2004 became the first local operator to offer 3G mobility. Four years later, 3 Hong Kong became the first operator in Greater China to launch the iPhone 3G - and in 2012 launched a 4G LTE service at speeds up to 100Mbps, achieving full MTR coverage last year. 3 Hong Kong now partners with top-notch players from various industries to equip customers with a diversity of innovative products and services.

Turning to the fixed-line domain, HGC has been up and running since 1995 and became the first and only local operator to install a fibre-optic cable system in the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor in 2008. HGC enterprise customers in the corporate business market cover different segments including banks, financial institutions, government departments and multinational corporations. Following the 3Home Broadband launch in 2011, HGC is now able to claim more than 1.7 million home-passes in terms of indoor broadband coverage, along with 15,000-plus "hgc on air" outdoor Wi-Fi hotspots. The company also provides international telecoms services all over the world - including niche markets in the Greater Mekong Sub-region. HGC has gradually been transforming from a network provider to an all-round solutions provider in recent years by developing data centre services and offering a host of cloud solutions such as enterprizCloud and bizCloud.

Looking ahead, the Group will continue expanding and optimising network coverage, while offering customers the fullest range of innovative products and services. In addition, the Group feels a strong sense of corporate responsibility and will continue to serve the Hong Kong community in a variety of helpful ways.
