Global Bio-chem Technology Group Company Limited ("Global Bio-chem" or the "Company" and together with its subsidiaries, the "Group", stock code: 809) announced today that the Company has been selected by Forbes Global as one of the World's 200 Best Small Companies from 20,000 publicly listed companies worldwide.

Global Bio-chem was selected by Forbes Global for its strong profitability, remarkable earnings and sales growth. The internationally-renowned business magazine has also conducted extensive interviews with fund managers, analysts and industry watchers to seek their comments on the 20,000 candidates for the World's 200 Best Small Companies.

Global Bio-chem is principally engaged in the research and development, and manufacture of corn refined and corn based biochemical products in the PRC. Its products are sold in the PRC and other Asian countries. Headquartered in Hong Kong and with its main production facilities based in Changchun, Jilin province in the PRC, the Group is one of the largest corn based biochemical product manufacturers in the PRC. In September 2001, the Company set up a joint venture company in Hong Kong with Cargill Incorporated ("Cargill"), an international marketer, processor and distributor of agricultural, food, financial and industrial products and services based in the US, for investing in the sweeteners market in the PRC.
