Segmental Analysis: Turnover and Contribution to Profit by Line of Business
The segmental analysis below includes analyses by individual company classified within the Group's four main businesses. In order to provide additional information regarding the constituent elements of the profitability of the Group on a recurrent basis, the table below analyses the components of profit for the year after excluding the effect of exceptional items which are shown separately.
* For presentation purposes the results of Metro Pacific's telecommunications and property interests are included within Telecommunications (Smart) and Property respectively. The results of Metro Pacific, under Marketing and Distribution, relate solely to its packaging and distribution and consumer products manufacturing businesses.
** For presentation purposes exceptional items included within contribution to profit for the year have been adjusted for tax and the portion of exceptional items attributable to outside interests.
