The Company was listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in February 2000. The Group is principally engaged in distribution of films, sub-licensing of film rights, sale of financial assets and property investment.
Distribution of films and sub-licensing of film rights
As the number of films produced by Hong Kong film production companies decreased in recent years, the Group was not able to source quality films at reasonable prices for distribution. Accordingly, the Group has slowed down its film distribution business.
Sale of financial assets
The Group invested in listed securities in Hong Kong. As volatility in equity market remained high, the Group disposed all of its financial assets in the second half of 2007.
Property investment
In June 2006, the Group acquired a property located at the center of Beijing, China. The property had been transformed from an apartment complex into high-end serviced apartments. The Group has appointed Shama, one of the leading providers of boutique-serviced apartments, as the management company to the property. The property is now named as "Shama Luxe Chang An". Shama Luxe Chang An presents 204 sophisticated residences with one to three bedroom layouts and duplex suites, a vast clubhouse with sports, recreation and children's facilities and a large private garden.
