ANNOUNCEMENT
The Board of Directors (the "Board") of China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited (the "Company") noted certain typographical errors in the Company’s announcement dated 27 April 1999 (the "Earlier Announcement") and would like to clarify that, for the purposes of the 1998 annual general meeting of the Company to be held on 22 June 1999, the Company's register of members of H Shares will be closed from 22 May 1999 to 22 June 1999 (both days inclusive) instead of 21 May 1999 to 21 June 1999 as stated in the Earlier Announcement.
