FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | 20 January 2008 |
Cathay Pacific Airways today announced that it had received approval from the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department to levy a lower passenger fuel surcharge of US$5.3 (HK$42) and US$15 (HK$118) for its short-haul and long-haul services respectively.
Cathay Pacific intends to implement the revised lower surcharge for tickets to be issued or re-issued on or after 1 February 2005. The new surcharges will be effective for two months until 31 March 2005.
The revised levels represent a reduction of over 40% on existing fuel surcharges - US$9.20 for short-haul and US$27.00 for long-haul services - which have been effective for tickets issued or re-issued on or after 1 December 2004 and are about to expire on 31 January 2005.
