Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Company Limited (the "Company") is one of the largest petrochemical enterprises in the People's Republic of China (the "PRC") based on 2000 sales. It is also one of the largest PRC producers of ethylene, one of the most important intermediate petrochemical products used in the production of synthetic fibres, resins and plastics. The Company is a market leader in every sector of the PRC market in which it competes, except for petroleum products.

Located at Jinshanwei in the southwest of Shanghai, the Company is a highly integrated petrochemical enterprise. The Company produces over 60 different types of products representing a broad range of synthetic fibres, resins and plastics, intermediate petrochemicals and petroleum products. More than 40 types of products were awarded "High Quality Product Prize" at the national, ministerial or provincial levels.
